THE ROUNDABOUTS ARE USED AS A TOOL - TO PORTRAY THE CITY’S HERITAGE TO THE POSTERITY; TO COMMEMORATE THE RULERS TOWARDS THEIR CONTRIBUTION FOR THE GROWTH & FAME OF MADURAI; TO EARMARK THE COLOURFUL FESTIVALS OF MADURAI; TO ILLUSTRATE THE REGIONAL SPORT OF MADURAI; TO PICTURIZE THE FLORA & FAUNA OF MADURAI AND IN TOTO TO DEPICT THE IDENTITY OF MADURAI THROUGH ITS LITERATURE, LANGUAGE AND OTHER SIGNIFICANT EVENTS OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE.
